Explore within your own practice area any community-based initiatives that support individuals with disability or help the long-term unemployed to return to work.

Maybe contact your local Jobcentre Plus office and set up a meeting to see how it could support your practice population.

You may also identify patients in your practice who would be prepared to act as 'champions'. These would be patients who have used the local services, have managed to return to some gainful work with their help, and who might offer encouragement to other patients who are keen to return to work.
