Decision Aids

The Decision Aids can be used in the consultation. They offer 'bite' size pieces of information, access to downloadable leaflets and useful links that you might want access to during your discussion with a patient. With this in mind the desk aid has been designed for you to share the screen with your patient. When you click on the desk aid screen you will be offered options to review different conditions. The screen is then populated by icons which will guide you through to different areas of information. The text for each icon can be seen using your cursor to hover over the icon and then pressing down the space bar. The format is similar for each desk aid. Information is presented for either the doctor or the patient. There is a facility to print off text for patients. The desk aids may be downloaded to your desk top or viewed on line.

Fit for Work

A decision aid about completing the fit note (available as an app or online) it will help you decide if someone ‘maybe fit' for work and then how to complete the note.

This desk aid can be used during the consultation to help and support GPs make decisions when filling out the 'Statement of Fitness for Work' or ‘fit note'.
